See your trace listed on the GPS traces tab of the website.Once your GPX file has been uploaded to the database, you will be able to: (For more information see: Q:Why aren't my GPS traces shown on the maps? or Q:How are uploaded traces (GPX files) from my GPS device used in the OpenStreetMap editing process?) To add map features you (or somebody else) can use an editor to draw them using the GPS traces as a guide by viewing them as a background layer. We do not however automatically create streets, paths or other map features based on your uploaded files. When you upload a GPX file the points are extracted and inserted into the database. Troubleshooting I have uploaded a GPS trace but nothing has happened on the map The file will be uploaded to the OSM server, where it will join the queue of files ("PENDING" next to it) to be inserted into the database. (If you have already uploaded it, then in " See your traces" you can still edit/delete it.) We are also working on video tutorials for the main run-tracking apps that will at least help people navigate the export for the first time. The GPS traces link, highlighted. We are considering adding the ability to create GPS tracks from within the app, which would eliminate the tedious export-import step. Please note that once you have exported your data it is very simple to get GPX File Editor to open it: either save it to iCloud and import it from within the app (if you have Documents and Desktop syncing enabled just save the file to your desktop) or send the file to yourself via Message, email or AirDrop. Thank you for your feedback! We agree that the flow for importing data from third party apps into GPX File Editor is a bit cumbersome right now, especially since a lot of the run/bike-tracking apps require you to export data through their websites. I look forward to seeing the functionality and features improve! It is a little tricky to get the a gpx file from Strava uploaded to GPXEditor but the tutorials provided were very helpful. This is the answer! You can add or remove points along your route and edit the timing to give a more accurate picture of your activity. I use Strava to track my runs and get so sad when I can’t edit my data. Thank you for your review! And thanks for the feature suggestions, all three have been added to our todo list. Runkeeper doesn’t honor those when uploading tracks not recorded with their app anyways so it is not a crucial feature for me, but for viewing in google earth it would be nice.Īlso not crucial: it would be nice to see track stats in the app. I was able to shift the times point-by-point though, which was a bit tedious.Īnother nice-to-have: right now this app merges tracks with multiple track segments into one track segment. One thing I wish this app had was an ability to shift the time for a whole lot of points all at once to cut out a break. With this app I had no trouble editing a 14 mile run, export the GPX file and replace the track I had originally created with Runkeeper. Runkeeper’s web editing tool craps out with longer runs and I can’t add “new” data points where I lost reception. I have been looking for a way to clean up my Runkeeper tracks. Finally!!! An app that lets me add waypoints.
